JH's First Trip to South Africa!

We are excited to announce that we are launching our very first Emergency Medical Relief Trip outside of Latin America. This summer we have landed in the vast lands of South Africa!

Our recent partnership with the University of Colorado Denver has gracefully allowed us to become sponsors for the South African Emergency Medicine Foundation (SAEMF), an organization that has been working with South African communities since 2006. With over 80 alumni so far, including Natalie Lays, our JH Ambassador who has won the South Africa 2019 Scholarship!

Natalie is a second-year medical student at the University of Colorado School of Medicine who is very familiar with emergency medicine global relief trips. Her passionate drive has taken her to remote countries such as Kenya, Guatemala, Brazil, and Tanzania.

Natalie will be clinically trained to work in emergency shifts. In this South African community, Natalie will be paired with a team of providers in the Emergency Department at Khayelitsha District Hospital (KDH) who will provide her with support. She will also have the opportunity to do research in the country while providing medical assistance in branches like internal medicine, public health, odontology, emergency medical services, and much more.

We are thrilled to expand our horizons and explore new communities who are eager for helping hands like Natalie’s. This couldn’t have been achieved without your continuous support towards our global vision. Thank you.
